Happy places…
Marcobarba is the project of three young men, Marco, Giulio and Tommaso, who share a passion for wine, biodynamic viticulture and respect for nature. Brought together by working with Stefano Menti, they began making wine from various small plots managed by Marco in the Soave and Gambellara areas. These vineyards are mainly owned by elderly people who are no longer able to work them, so the Marcobarba project is in many ways a sustainability effort also. They produce only a sparkling white and a red, both vinified as simply as possible, because, as they say, “enjoying a glass of wine is like working in the vineyard: a moment of happiness.”

A group of friends linked by a passion for biodynamic viticulture and respect for nature. From a project born by chance to a real adventure: the challenge of producing honest and genuine wines with clean and authentic grapes.
Marco known as the “Barba”, who grew up in Lonigo, in the province of Vicenza, is the heart (and face, if you look closely at the label) of the project. At a very young age, just after completing his compulsory studies, he started working as a carpenter, but he soon discovered an interest in Rudolf Steiner’s biodynamics and anthroposophy. He then moved to the canton of Jura in Switzerland to work as a livestock farmer and a vegetable and fruit farmer. Thanks to the oenological experience accumulated at the
Menti farm, he started making wine for pleasure from the grapes of some vineyards that he already managed on behalf of elderly widows in his native town..Marco has improved the agronomic aspects of his production and since 2018, driven by the passion for biodynamic viticulture and respect for nature, he and the close-knit team of the “Barbaboyz” have set up the adventure of the Marcobarba brand, with the aim of producing pure and genuine wines from clean grapes.
