Impervious terrain of sandstone rock, vines and olive trees that mix as they once did in Chianti, 12 hectares surrounded by woods and inside the 6 hectares of vineyards recovered over time and which today represent the beating heart of Poggio Cagnano. An adventure that began in 2005, a reality in progress, the construction of the reception rooms and, not far away in an architectural context with minimal environmental impact, the cellar, Alessandro’s kingdom where the projects take shape.

Poggio Cagnano is a reality that is helping to bring the name of the Maremma high up in the panorama of Italian quality wine.
The adventure of Alessandro Gobbetti and his father Pietro began in 2005 with the desire to create a collection of territorial wines, with an elegant profile and produced in small quantities. The care in the cellar and in the vineyard is the result of collaboration with the oenologist and agronomist Francesco Petacco. The organic management, the minimum interventions in the cellar and the experiments in winemaking on small masses with materials such as amphora, cement and open tonneau are all choices that the company is slowly pursuing
with the aim of obtaining unique wines.The company, which has just planted new cuttings of Sangiovese, Alicante, Ansonica and Vermentino, aims to grow in numbers while maintaining the qualities of a limited edition – going from 8,000 bottles per year up to a maximum of 25,000 by 2023. Produce elegant, local wines on a small scale is giving us great satisfaction and many stimuli in multiple directions.
